Looking for some input on setting up a Gennaker Halyard for my Oceanis 35 . I've sailed with spinnakers before but gennakers are new to me. 2 riggers gave me different takes, one says masthead, the other says fractional... and my sailmaker said I can go with either. I'll mostly be coastal cruising in SoCal with light racing and a small crew in 7-18 knots of wind. What setup works best for this kind of use? Also, any tips on masthead or fractional mods to reduce halyard chafe or make handling easier, like block choices, shackles or crane tweaks? Thanks

If you're mostly cruising SoCal with light crew, go masthead, it gives you more punch in light breeze. Run a slick block, soft shackle, and maybe beef up the crane to dodge chafe issues
