Beneteau Oceanis 31

I'm working on an Oceanis 31 for the summer as my project and the curved stainless handrail on top of the binnacle is a little loose. The bolts drop into the binnacle and the nuts are deep inside the fiberglass housing. I think I'll need a really slim-walled socket sized 3/4 inches to fit but I am not sure. If anyone here knows exactly what the socket size is, it would be great.

From what I remember when my uncle had issues, the nuts inside usually call for a 3/4" socket, but you'll definitely need a thin walled or shallow socket to get in there without chewing up the fiberglass and maybe a universal swivel extension to help with the angling

I ran into the same thing on my uncle's old 31. A 3/4" thin-wall socket with a swivel got it done, but patience was key... it was such a tight space and I almost gave up every time.

You're probably right about needing a slim-walled socket, but from memory, on a lot of Beneteaus, that's often an 18mm, not 3/4 inch. It's a bit of a pain to get to, so I suggest you double-check before you invest in the wrong tool. Good luck with the project!

the binnacle handrail usually takes a 19 mm (roughly 3/4 in) slim wall socket to reach the nuts inside. A deep, thin walled socket is ideal so you don't strip anything.
