How can I remove the fixed portlights in my Oceanis 40? Asking anyone who already tried.

From what I've read, you'll need to carefully remove the trim around the portlight, then check for screws or sealant holding it in place. It's a slow process so its gonna take some patience. If anyone's done it, though, I'd love to hear if there's a simpler way. It feels like there's always something to fix on these boats,

Why remove it in the first place though? Isn't it there for safety?
