I have a 1998 352. I'm about to turn no problem into a big problem. I wanted to polish the fuel in the molded plastic tank. Its about 5 years old. I attempted to take the fuel sender off and one of the 5 retaining screws is just spinning. My guess is that the metal nut that is melted into the plastic tank is just spinning. Any thoughts on removing the sender without destroying the tank seal/seating? If I do eventually replace the tank, suggestions on where to get a new tank that will fit in that space? its a 90 liter / 20 gallon tank. Thanks in advance for any help!

That spinning screw situation is such a classic way for a simple job to snowball into a much bigger one. Sounds like you've got a good handle on what's likely happening under there though. Any luck getting a look at how that nut is seated before you go further?
